Testing item links from WARDB.com
I'm hoping to get item linking working so that members can link in-game items. Right now I've added the WARDB javascript header to the site, which allows straight html linkage, as well as parsing of [ Item ] and [ /Item ] tags (without spaces) to both the forums and news items, so the following should work, showing the Darkpromise Waraxe.
Test of BBCode:
Darkpromise Waraxe
Dark Band of Devouring
I'll add the ability to just click on a BBCode button when posting a forum message very soon, as well as try to get that working in the news submission. I'll also be keeping an eye on progress in the Warhammer Alliance forums so that item ID numbers won't have to be used, and you can just use an item name instead.

Interest in WAR is back on track!
For a while there, we lost some interest in WAR, partly because of the information regarding four classes being cut and all but two capital cities being cut as well, and also I was starting to get back into EverQuest 2 again. Then comes Mythics Preview Weekend for all CE preorders who entered in their Open Beta codes...
Well, since Sunphyre and I are now in Closed Beta, interest is very much renewed. While I can't give any details about anything (NDA obviously), I can say that so far what we have seen is fantastic, minor bugs aside. Sunphyre has even gone so far as to switch interest from the Archmage to the Runepriest, due to the mechanics of the class. Pretty big step for someone who swore she wouldn't play a "short fat ugly character". :)
Well, that's all for now. Hopefully soon, Sunphyre and I can experiment with the guild tools and standard creation before the game goes live.

Sunphyre featured as a Woman of WAR!
Our very own Sunphyre (aka Suntears) has been featured in Beibhinn's Women of WAR column over at Warhammer Vault! Head on over to see her views on being a female gamer in the MMO world.

Guild Charter/Rules
Crimson Phoenix now has a Guild Charter ! I'm still working on it, but it's fairly decent and comprehensive now. I would like to add a section detailing what the guild focus will be in WAR, as well as what the general playstyle is that we're looking for.
For now, it's a work in progress, but I hope to have it finalized pretty soon.

RSS Panel Created
I finished the RSS Panel for the website to grab headlines from WARHerald and WarhammerVault. If you can't tell, it's located above the site news for now. Once there's actual guild news to post on a regular basis, if I keep the RSS feeds I'll move them below. I've also added an RSS Feed link for this sites news feed in the upper right by the date.
At least this way there may be something worth coming to this site for if I'm not posting any worthy news in the meantime. :)
God I can't wait for this game to be released so there will actually be some real guild news to post about.

Coming soon: RSS feeds from fansites
I intend on writing up some PHP to get some RSS feeds going for some fansites like WarhammerVault , TenTonHammer , dev posts from Warhammer Alliance , and of course from the Herald .
Since there really isn't much I can post now that isn't on the fansites and the Herald, and since I'm not in beta (and even if I was I wouldn't be posting anything that is covered by the NDA), there isn't much to put in the guild news list. At least this way I have all my RSS feeds in one place and there may be a reason for people other than myself to come here. We'll see. :)

Massively interviews Mike Stone, gains insight into WAR Cities
Massively has recently been interviewing people at EAMythic and the latest interviews are with Mike Stone regarding the capital cities of WAR.
In this first article, they go into detail of the cities of Altdorf and Inevitable City as well as various sections of the city and highlights. Some things that caught my eye were the troupe of actors in Altdorf that would put on a show which will vary depending on time, day, etc. Also there were details of the War Quarter which houses statues of the top reknown rank players. That sounds to be one of the coolest things I've seen in an MMO yet. They also hinted that various Warhammer iconic characters will be making appearances in cities when the city reaches a high enough rank (ie. Gotrek and Felix ).
The second article details how players will go about sacking an enemy city and the Public Quests that will take place in doing so. Obviously not something that will happen every day, but it sure looks like it will be a lot of fun!
